common questions

hypnotherapy, answered

what does hypnosis feel like?

most people describe hypnosis as a state of deep, focused relaxation. you may feel physically calm while remaining mentally aware, somewhat like the moments before sleep or the experience of becoming deeply absorbed in a book, movie, or thought. some describe the experience as a pleasant inner journey, with a sense of ease, imagery, or heightened focus.

will i lose control during hypnosis?

no. you remain aware and in control throughout the experience. lisa guides the process but does not take control of your mind, choices, or behavior.

can everyone be hypnotized?

most people are capable of entering a hypnotic state. if you can become absorbed in a movie, daydream, or lose track of time while focused on something, you have likely experienced a naturally occurring state similar to hypnosis.

how many hypnotherapy sessions will i need?

it depends on what you're working on and how deeply established the pattern is. some people notice meaningful shifts early in the process, while others benefit from more time.

lisa generally recommends beginning with at least four sessions so there is enough time to explore the pattern, work with it at the subconscious level, and reinforce the changes you are creating.

does online hypnotherapy work?

yes. because hypnosis is primarily a guided, verbal process, it can be effectively facilitated online.

many clients also appreciate being able to experience hypnosis from the privacy and comfort of their own space, where they may already feel more relaxed and at ease. clients can be seen in person in San Diego, California.

what happens during a session?

sessions begin with a conversation about what you want to work on, what you've been experiencing, and what you would like to change.

from there, lisa guides you into a relaxed, focused state and uses techniques tailored to the intention of the session. you remain aware and able to communicate throughout the process.

at the end, lisa will guide you back to your normal waking state, fully present and alert, with time to reflect on anything that came up during the experience.
