questions
what is hypnosis, really?+
hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention in which you become deeply relaxed while remaining aware of what is happening around you. it can feel similar to becoming absorbed in a good book or movie, daydreaming, or the moments just before sleep.
during hypnosis, your attention becomes more focused and you may become more receptive to imagery, reflection, and therapeutic suggestion.
is hypnosis safe?+
yes. you remain aware and in control throughout the experience. a hypnotherapist guides the process but does not take control of your mind, choices, or behavior.
you can communicate during the session and bring yourself out of the hypnotic state at any time.
will i lose control or say or do something embarrassing?+
no. this is one of the most common misconceptions about hypnosis, often shaped by stage-hypnosis shows.
therapeutic hypnosis is collaborative. you remain aware and in control, and you are not compelled to say or do something that goes against your values or wishes.
what if i can't be hypnotized?+
most people are capable of entering a hypnotic state to some degree, although the experience varies from person to person.
if you can daydream, become absorbed in a movie, or lose track of time while deeply focused on something, you have likely experienced a naturally occurring state similar to hypnosis.
what does hypnosis feel like?+
most people describe it as a deep, focused relaxation, similar to the moment just before sleep, where you're calm but still aware. some describe the experience as a pleasant inner journey, with a sense of ease, imagery, or heightened focus.
what happens in a session?+
we begin with a conversation about what you want to work on, what you've been experiencing, and what you would like to change.
from there, i guide you into a relaxed, focused state and use techniques tailored to the intention of the session. you remain aware and able to communicate throughout the process.
at the end, i guide you back to your normal waking state, fully present and alert, with time to reflect on anything that came up during the experience.
how many sessions will i need?+
it depends on what you're working on and how established the pattern is. some people notice meaningful shifts early in the process, while others benefit from more time and repetition.
i generally recommend beginning with at least four sessions so there is enough time to explore the pattern, work with it at the subconscious level, and reinforce the changes you are creating.
does online hypnotherapy work?+
yes. because hypnosis is primarily a guided, verbal process, it can be effectively facilitated online.
many clients also appreciate being able to experience hypnosis from the privacy and comfort of their own space, where they may already feel more relaxed and at ease.
is hypnotherapy a replacement for therapy or medical care?+
no. hypnotherapy can complement medical or mental health treatment, but it is not a replacement for care provided by a physician, psychologist, psychotherapist, or other licensed healthcare professional when that care is needed.
what are your qualifications?+
